New Technology . . .

Did you attend one of Fr. Damian's parent meetings?  Were you feeling a bit lost when we discussed placing a mimio in your student's classroom next year?  Just what is this technology?  Click on the link to view a short clip demonstrating the uses of a classroom mimio.  We're sure you'll understand the value of having these in the classrooms!

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!  I am so blessed to have been chosen as the principal at St. Columbkille.  I'm excited for a new school year, and I hope that your students are also.

School begins on August 17, 2010.  Kindergarten students will have a half-day program during that week to assist in their transition to school.  All other students will be in class full days that week.

Supply lists have been updated and are on the school website.  We are asking students in grades 5-8 to purchase a student planner from our newly formed Student Council to help in their formation.  Planners are $5.00 and will be sold both nights at the Open House.

Open Houses will be on Sunday, August 15, and Monday, August 16. We are asking that families with the last names of A-L attend on Sunday if possible to prevent overcrowding. Families with the last names M-Z can attend on Monday evening.  Open house begins with a commitment service at church at 6:30 p.m. PLEASE attend to model the commitment to school and the church for your students at the beginning of a school year.  Open houses will be held from 6:30-8:30 both evenings.

Fee payments, lunch ticket sales, and after school care sign ups will be held in the office.  All other activities will be held in the gym.  Please stop by to visit the Student Council table and also our Home and School Association (HSA).  HSA will be selling directories and will need to have you sign up and pay for the directory.

We have had an exciting summer and hope to see you at Open House.

Blessings to all of you,

Dr. Cheryl F. Blue
